St Paul's Church
St Paul’s Church
The cut stone piers and wrought iron gates on the main street are all that remain of the Church of Ireland church. As a result of the decline in the local congregation in the 1940’s the church was closed and the decision was taken to demolish it. The accompanying graveyard, which is a modest rectangular plot, contains numerous small grave markers. Most notable among them is a marble tombstone dedicated to a number of members of the Blackton family with dates of interment ranging from 1866 to 1893. The graveyard can be accessed by a laneway alongside Walsh’s pub.
